Dear J.M. –

This is a very common question that we get in our classes and in our business counseling sessions. If you only have $500 for the first few months to market your business, this is how I would recommend that you spend them.

  • Get a Google Business Page (Free)
    • As long as your local business meets Google’s guidelines, potential customers quickly see your business’ address, phone number, photos, read online reviews, and complete a transaction
    • You need to get started is a Gmail account
    • Visit google and type in “get my business on Google” to start
    • Update photos and posts each month
    • Make a goal of getting 5-10 reviews (or more!)
    • Visit prosperamt.org to see our monthly google trainings
  • Get out of your office (Price depends on the group Free-$400/year)
    • Join a networking or Leads group
    • 92% of consumers trust recommendations from other people (Nielsen)
